HOW TO GET TO THE BIG RED CAT CAR & PASSENGER FERRY TO NORTH STRADBROKE ISLAND
Car: From Brisbane:
- Head south on Queens st toward Edwards St travel 0.1 km
- Turn left on to Alice st travel 0.5 km
- Take the ramp to Riverside Exppressway travel 0.2 km
- Turn Left at Riverside Expressway travel 0.2 km
- Continue on South east Fwy travel 2.4 Km
- Slight left at Cornwall East Freeway travel 0.6 Km
- Turn Left at Cornwall st travel 0.7Km
- Turn left onto Logan Rd travel 0.2Km
- Continue on Montague St travel 0.3Km
- Turn right at Old Cleveland Rd travel 16.8Km
- Continue on Finucane Rd travel 4.8Km
- Continue On Shore st West travel 2.6 Km
- Go through 4 round abouts
- At the 4th Roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Passage St travel 200 meters
- Turn right onto Emmett drive travel 400 meters until you see the Big Red Cat Sign and Red Flag above the ticket: Please allow at least 1hour travelling time from city,
North of Brisbane from Sunshine Coast:
Travel south on the Sunshine Motorway and follow the signs to the airport via the Gateway Arterial Road.
Travel past the airport turn off, over the Gateway Bridge and approximately 5km after the toll $2.90 (for a car)
Take the Old Cleveland Road exit Follow the directions as given above to Cleveland.
The travelling time is approximately 1½ to 2 hours depending on what part of the coast you are leaving from.
From Gold Coast:
Travel north along the Pacific Highway; take the Cleveland/Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road exit (about 1km beyond the Ipswich Motorway exit).
Turn right into Bryants Road which then becomes Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road
Turn left into Mt Cotton Road and follow the signs all the way to Cleveland.
Follow the North Stradbroke island ferry signs to Toondah Harbour,
look for the Big Red flag at the end of Emmett street . Travelling time is approximately 1 hour from the northern part of the coast or 1½ hours from the southern areas.
By Bus & Rail: From the Gold Coast:
Buses depart from the Surfers Paradise bus terminal for the Brisbane Transit Centre. Catch the Citytrain from the Transit Centre to Cleveland. Regular buses depart Cleveland Station for a short five minute trip to Toondah Harbour where you can catch the our well appointed car & passenger ferry.
Brisbane to Cleveland by train:
Take the Citytrain to Cleveland Station from Central or Roma Street Stations in Brisbane City. A regular bus departs Cleveland Station for a short five minute trip to Toondah Harbour where you can catch our car & passenger ferry the Big Red Cat. There is also a connecting bus that will return you to the train station.
